Dhar Polyetchnic college was established in 1994 under World Bank Assisted Project. Initially only one branch i.e.Manufacturing Engineering was started.
In 1995 two more courses Mechatronics and Industrial Electronics were introduced. All these courses are of four years duration and are based upon sandwich pattern. The curriculum of these diploma courses is designed as per the need of growing industries. All these programs are recognized by AICTE and are running only in dhar im M.P.
The response from industry about these courses is very encouraging, as the courses are designed keeping their requirement in mind. In the year 2000, two more diploma programs viz., Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering and Diploma in information technology were introduced.These are 3 year diploma programs and are also approved by AICIE.Thus at present 5 diploma programs are running in the institute. The intake is 60 each in all branches.Admission is on the basis of PPT/Non PPT. The institute has 70 seater Hostel for boys and a beautiful campus.Total area is 7.985 hectare.
