The Department of Industrial Electronics was established in 1995.It has been offering four years diploma course in Industrial Electronics with intake of 60.
Industrial Electronics is a branch of engineering that deals with the power electronics devices such as thyristors,SCRs,AC/DC drives,meters,sensors,data recorders,waveguides,radio frequency circuit board.
It covers all the methods & facts of control system,Instrumentation,signal processing and automation of various industrial application.The core areas of industrial electronics,include electrical power machine design,power conditioning and power semiconductor devices.
In industrial electronics branch students undergo for 32 weeks industrial training in various industries & companies.
The scope of industrial electronics ranges from the design and maintenance of simple electrical fuses to complicated PLC,solid state devices and motor drives.Industrial electronics can handle the automation of all types of modern day electrical and mechanical industrial process.In today's modern industry various AC & DC electrical drives are used.
They are either fixed speed or variable speed type drives.These drives use the various methods to control the speed of thyristor power controller,voltage to frequency converter.
Expertise in following subject are being provided by us electronics engineering,electrical engineering,material science,Instrumentation & measurement.Electrical machine,power electronics,micro processor and process control.
The knowledge of these subject would enable the student to operate some controls.In addition,he would be able to carry out preventive and break down maintenance.
